LED Status Guide
SolarEdge LED Status Guide
🟢 Solid Green LED Status:
System Producing Power Normally
A solid green LED indicates that your SolarEdge HD-Wave inverter is operating normally and actively producing electricity.
What this Means:
- Your solar system is generating power.
The inverter is functioning properly.
No production faults have been detected.
If the Blue LED is OFF
If the green LED is solid but there is no blue LED, your solar system is still producing electricity, but it is not communicating with the SolarEdge Monitoring Platform.
This means:
Your home is still benefiting from solar production.
Production data is not being uploaded.
Monitoring alerts may not be received.
Remote system monitoring is unavailable until communication is restored.
Recommended Troubleshooting
✔ Verify your home's internet connection is working.
✔ Restart your internet router.
✔ If your inverter connects through Wi-Fi, ensure the network name or password has not changed.
✔ If using Ethernet, verify the cable is securely connected.
✔ Allow several minutes for the inverter to reconnect.
If the blue LED does not return after these steps, contact the service department.
🟢 Flashing Green LED Status: Startup or Grid Verification
A flashing green LED indicates the inverter is preparing to begin production.
This commonly occurs:
Shortly after sunrise
Following a utility outage
After the inverter has been restarted
What to Do
This is normal.
Allow approximately 5–15 minutes for startup.
The LED should change to solid green once normal operation begins.
If the inverter continues flashing green during full daylight for an extended period, contact the service department.
🔵 Blue LED ON
Status: Communication Active
A blue LED indicates the inverter is successfully communicating with the SolarEdge Monitoring Platform.
No action is required.
🔵 Blue LED OFF
Status: Monitoring Communication Lost
The inverter is not communicating with the monitoring platform.
If the green LED remains solid, your system is still generating electricity.
Possible Causes
Internet outage
Router replacement
Wi-Fi password changed
Ethernet cable disconnected
Communication configuration issue
Troubleshooting
Verify internet service is available.
Restart your router.
Confirm communication cables or Wi-Fi settings.
Wait several minutes for reconnection.
If communication is not restored, contact the service department.
🔴 Red LED
Status: Inverter Fault Detected
A red LED indicates the inverter has detected a fault requiring attention.
Possible Causes
Grid voltage outside acceptable range
Utility frequency issue
Internal inverter fault
Isolation fault
Arc fault
Ground fault
Hardware malfunction
What you should do
Check your solaredge monitoring app for an error message.
Perform a standard inverter restart by power cycling the inverter. If the red LED remains illuminated after restarting, contact the service department.
Do not attempt to open or repair the inverter.
âš« No LED IlluminatedStatus:
Inverter Has No Power
If no LEDs are illuminated, the inverter is not receiving power or is unable to power on.
Possible Causes
Blown inverter fuse (most common)
Loss of AC power to the inverter
Tripped breaker or disconnect
Internal inverter fault
What to Check
Verify that your home's electrical service is operating normally.
Check that the solar AC disconnect and breaker have not been switched off or tripped.
If Power Is Available but No LEDs Are On
A blown inverter fuse may be preventing the inverter from powering up.
You have two options:
- Contact our Service Department to schedule service and have the fuse inspected and replaced.
Replace the fuse yourself by following our Fuse Replacement Guide, only if you are comfortable working with electrical equipment and can safely perform the procedure.
Important: If you are unsure or uncomfortable working with electrical components, do not attempt to replace the fuse yourself. Contact our Service Department for assistance.
When to Contact Service Immediately
Contact our Service Department if:
The LEDs remain off after verifying power is available.
Replacing the fuse does not restore power to the inverter.
You observe signs of damage, burning, or water intrusion.
You are not comfortable performing electrical work.
Safety First: Never open or service the inverter while it is energized. Always follow proper safety procedures and manufacturer recommendations before performing any maintenance.
