SolarEdge Inverter Fuse Replacement Guide

SolarEdge Inverter Fuse Replacement Guide

(No LED Condition)Troubleshooting Guide for No LED Power Issue

This guide applies when your SolarEdge inverter shows NO LED activity, which commonly indicates a blown DC/AC fuse or loss of power at the inverter.

🔴 Important Safety Notice (Read Before Starting)

  • The top section of the AC disconnect remains live with grid voltage present

  • There is risk of electric shock if metal lugs or upper terminals are touched

  • Only proceed if you are comfortable working with basic electrical components

  • If unsure at any point, contact the service department instead of continuing

🔍 Recommended First Step (Fuse Identification)

Before replacing fuses:

  • Remove both fuses carefully

  • Take them to a local hardware store for proper matching

  • Alternatively, send a clear photo of the fuses to the service department for confirmation of the correct amp rating

Recommended replacement type:

  • BUSSMANN fuses (same amp rating as originals)

  • Commonly available at Home Depot or similar hardware stores

  • Known for long-lasting performance in solar applications

🔧 Step-by-Step Fuse Replacement Instructions

1. Turn OFF AC Disconnect

  • Locate the solar AC disconnect

  • Move the black lever or red handle to the DOWN / OFF position

This isolates the inverter for safe fuse removal.

2. Remove Fuses

  • Carefully remove both fuses from the disconnect

  • A fuse puller may be used, but it is not required

⚠️ Do NOT touch:

  • Upper terminals of the disconnect

  • Metal lugs in the top section (this section remains energized)

3. Replace Fuses

  • Install the new correctly rated BUSSMANN fuses

  • Ensure both are seated securely

4. Restore Power

  • Return AC disconnect lever to the ON position

  • Allow system to initialize

Wait 1–2 hours for full system restart and production to resume.

🟢 After Replacement

Once fuses are installed and power is restored:

  • Check inverter LED status

  • Confirm system begins producing power again

  • Allow monitoring system time to reconnect

📸 Required Follow-Up

After completing the fuse replacement:

  • Send a photo of the inverter LED status

  • Confirm whether system production has resumed

  • Report any continued issues immediately

💡 Additional Notes

  • Fuse pullers are optional and not reimbursable

  • Fuse replacement costs will be reimbursed when applicable

  • If the issue persists after replacement, further diagnostics may be required

📞 When to Stop and Call for Help

Do NOT proceed and contact service immediately if:

  • You are uncomfortable performing any step

  • You cannot safely access the disconnect

  • The inverter remains completely off after fuse replacement

  • Burning smell, damage, or abnormal conditions are present
